Theses

to the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Taiwan Branch of the

International Academy of Engineering

It has been 10 years since the establishment of the Taiwan branch of MIA.

During the first years we mainly got acquainted with the main sights of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Taipei and other cities of Russia and Taiwan, met with the rectors of universities, including: Moscow Technical University named after N.E. Bauman, Moscow University of Transport, Moscow University of Civil Engineering, St. Petersburg Technical University and the University of Design, National Taiwan University and the University of Technology. At the same time, meetings were held with the heads of research centers (institutes of the Taiwan Laboratory).

Further, the directions of joint research on various scientific and technical problems were formulated:

- Sustainable development of industries and social development of states and individual regions.

- Development of precast concrete production in the USSR, the Russian Federation and Taiwan.

- Development and application of nanotechnology in concrete and reinforced concrete.

- Wave technologies and seismic science, methods for measuring wave processes, including 3D measurements.

- Energy problems and renewable energy sources.

- Production of biogas from organic matter in the aquatic environment using pressures up to 150 atm. and temperatures above 400 ° C.

- The development of robotic systems and process control, etc.

We continue the practice of the participation of scientists of our countries in various international scientific and technical conferences on sustainable development, seismic, nanotechnology, biotechnology, etc.

Following the results of joint activities, two major Russian-Taiwan and Taiwan-Russian Forums were held in 2017 and 2018 (separate materials).

Russian and Taiwan scientists published more than 30 articles on the topics listed above in Russian and Taiwan scientific journals. More than 20 articles were published by Samuel Yen-Liang Yin , the First Chairman of the IAE Taiwan Branch, in various Russian scientific journals and conference collections. His work on spiral reinforcement received high recognition in Russia.

International and Russian Academies of Engineering actively cooperate with the Moscow-Taipei Representative Office and regularly receive high praise from the Chairmen (Ambassadors) of the Representative Office. Within the framework of the activity of the IAE, the Taiwan Branch has the opportunity to actively cooperate with the CIS countries and a number of East European countries.

Thanks to the fruitful work of the Taiwan Branch, Russia and other countries that are present as part of the IAE can actively participate in scientific and technical cooperation with countries in Southeast Asia.

At present, the International and Russian Academies of Engineering are establishing awards in honor of outstanding scientists - members of both academies. By the decision of the Presidium of the International Academy of Engineering, the medals of Boris Paton are created – he is an Honorary President of the IAE, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, who celebrates 100th anniversary this November and the medal of the First Vice-President of the IAE, founder of the TANG International Prize Samuel Yin.

The IAE Presidium highly appreciates the contribution of the Taiwan Branch to the work of the IAE and considers it expedient to hold ceremonial events to mark the 10th anniversary of cooperation.

President of the IAE, Professor B.GUSEV
